Why do I provide this service? I figure with all the para-legals, librarians and corporations practicing law over the internet, some people might like to receive legal services from a real lawyer. I enjoy having many satisfied customers. This service allows me to provide additional training to staff, helps keep them occupied and, as an added bonus, allows me to sit at my desk more instead of going to courthouses all the time.

How am I able to provide this service? Before the internet took over lawyer advertising, I advertised this service in newspapers like "the Greensheet" and "the Thrifty Nickel". Since 1993, I have handled hundreds of divorces and other family law cases, including many very difficult ones. I run my office like a business and we provide legal work-product the same way over and over. Our experience and standardized office procedures make us prompt, efficient and effective. FORMS AND PAPERS FOR SIMPLE AND UNCONTESTED DOMESTIC RELATIONS CASES

Statistics confirm that most divorce and family law cases are resolved with minimal disagreement. Many people are able to avoid an unnecessarily contentious or expensive legal proceeding. If your spouse or ex-spouse will agree to sign and return all necessary legal documents that reflect the agreements you have made, then you have an "uncontested" divorce or family law case and we can help.

The Childress Law Office charges fixed, flat fees, in the following ranges, for uncontested divorce and family law services:

$300.00 for a no-fault divorce with no children or property issues

$450.00 for a no-fault divorce involving minor children, and no property, where standard child-support and possession schedules are used

$550.00 for a divorce with no property issues but where provisions regarding children are custom tailored for the parties, such as various "split custody" arrangements or agreements for alternative forms of child support

For every division of a business, division of military retired pay or other retirement plan, or division of real estate that must be addressed in the FINAL DECREE OF DIVORCE, we charge an additional $200.00. We provide the Deeds needed for the real estate transaction if, for example, a residence is conveyed from one spouse to another. We will also ensure that the Deeds are properly recorded in your County's Real Property Records.

We charge an additional $100.00 for every other property issue that must be specifically addressed in the FINAL DECREE OF DIVORCE, including issues like - estate planning or tax issues and division of debt or personal items.

For a "Qualified Domestic Relations Order" or similar order required by any retirement plan administrator, we charge $500.00. See our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information about "QDROs".
